Z, zoo

Today’s zoos, are better characterized as being habitats for animals. We have come along way from the human centered entertainment with small cages that held majestic beasts better suited to be roaming the wilds of the Serengeti, the Amazon or the mountain ranges of Asia.

New York City’s Bronx Zoo

The National Zoo in DC

The San Diego Zoo

Safari-Zoo, Israel

Biblical Zoo Jerusalem, Israel

Today’s zoos are also centers geared toward saving endangered species. Today’s zoologists are dedicated to the care and understanding of the animals in their charge.Husbandry and kindness go hand-in-hand.

People today are also different. They wouldn’t allow an animal to be abused or mistreated because its in a zoo. The general population demands respect for the animals in our care.

Congratulations on completing the challenge! How fascinating, Jerusalem’s Biblical Zoo. I absolutely will put it on my list of places to visit when I return.

Interesting post. Our daughter & Co. living in Maryland and we’ve been to the National Zoo a couple times. They have a season pass and go often. (It’s okay if you start at the top and walk down. But then you’ve gotta walk back up to your car! Lordy! It’s quite a hike.)

  4. I’m too lazy to watch your youtube videos, which I know you’ve carefully selected, but congrats on getting to Z. Zoos kind of make me sad. Maui Jungalow
