51aqpm2bngdl-_sx323_bo1204203200_Learning to better your own life, is a goal that we all want to reach. In The Well Life, Briana and Dr. Peter Borten, create an easy to follow, systemic, holistic way to understand who you are, where you are going, and what you need to do in order to unstick your life.

The ideal life, you are taught, is one of “dynamic balance.” Where we as human beings learn to bring “Sweetness, Structure, and Space,” into harmony. The Bortens help you explore how to get from point A to point B, place our priorities on the “journey not the destination,” and then find the space within ourselves to hear our own voices. We are taught the elements of selfcare needed to produce a complete introspective of our own well-being. The reader is helped along this exploration with guided exercises in order to accomplish these important tasks.

From here, we are taken on a journey through confidence, self-worth and self-esteem. We gain an understanding of what is and is not healthy self-esteem. We celebrate the idea of self-trust, competence and how to garner courage in order to accomplish our true life goals.

In understanding these goals, the Bortens help the reader to define their own “superpower.” They direct you to reevaluate your core values and access your gifts. We learn exactly what our BLISS is and how to follow our “own truth” and where to find our “light.” They teach you how to live a positive life. We are taught how to banish those negative thoughts that control us and how to have power over aspects of your past that are holding you back.

And lastly the Bortens discuss the idea of “life architecture.” The actual planning of your own day to day existence, with the creation of longterm and short term goals. They work with visualizations and mapping out your priorities. They help you appreciate the importance of structure and sticking with a program. You learn that creating your plan is an agreement with yourself and that you owe it to yourself to follow through. You learn the power of sticktoitiveness, and how the happiest among us are also the most disciplined.

For many of us, we wait until there is the tragedy of a death or a major illness in our family, before we reevaluate who we are and where we are headed on our life journey. With this book, you don’t have to wait until you are forced into a life redo. Learn to enjoy your total existence. With the help and guidance of the Borten’s program you too can end up being happier, more successful and more joyful.
