Book Review: Above the Timberline by Gregory Manchess

Told through journal entries, the reader is drawn into the Earth of the future, where  the warnings of climatologists have come true. Above the Timberline is a story of a son in search of his explorer father. But more so, this book, which is illustrated with 120 full page oil paintings, by award winning painter Gregory Manchess, is a feast for the senses.

Every journal entry is accompanied by a masterful work of art. As the story ebbs and flows, you feel you are mystically drawn into the action. The paintings come alive as the story unfolds.

In the following video, Gregory Manchess discusses his art, and his creative process.

This book  would make a wonderful holiday present. No doubt it will become a family treasure.

It is available October 24.
