She believes in honesty, integrity and above all, she searches for the traitorous bastards that murdered her father. Sadly, these degenerates hide in plain site as the police. She also knows that these corrupt officials also inhabit other national ministries as well. They are called “The Hand.” She had thought that she had uncovered who they were, but this latest case proves her earlier theories wrong.

Shrouded in a mystery that stretches all the way back to the prison stalags of the Second World War, and obligations honed through that horrific period of history, Aimee is propelled into a life and death struggle not only for herself, but for all those around her, including her toddler daughter. The Hand wants some information, papers long stowed away by their accountant. These mobsters dressed up as flics, think Aimee has hidden away information that can not only end their organization, and put them all in prison for the rest of their lives. They will stop at nothing to procure the papers, no matter who they have to torture, no matter who they have to kill.

From the Cambodian banlieues of Paris, to the studios of modern artists, to the elegant salons of ancient weavers, Aimee seeks the papers that will save her life, and the lives of those she loves. And maybe, just maybe, bring to justice the men who took her father from her. Meanwhile, in the middle of this maelstrom in walks her long absent mother, who, despite Aimee’s  indifference becomes a force to reckon with, just in the nick of time.

If you are looking for a good mystery, complete with the exotic flair of the City of Lights, then this book is for you.
